Developing Effective Teams and Team Players

Practical Tools for Winning With Teamwork

Course Description

Find out what defines an effective team player and how team players and teamwork can benefit an organization's bottom line. Discover your own team player style, benchmark your team against the 12 characteristics of an effective team, develop a plan to build successful stakeholder relationships and examine ways to create a team-based environment.

In this survey-based course, you will identify your team leader (or member) style and develop a plan to increase your effectiveness using the data from the Parker Team Player Survey, a proven self-assessment instrument. You will also complete the Parker Team Development Survey and then use the results to analyze your team and create an action plan for improvement.

An organization can tailor the class to meet their immediate needs by selecting from a menu of units that include building stakeholder relationships, successful conflict resolution, effective meeting management, team decision-making and team empowerment.

The learning methodology includes discussions, small group exercises, a self-assessment survey, a team player video, simulations, feedback and action planning. Each participant also receives a copy of the new book, Team Players and Teamwork and a survey instrument, the Parker Team Player Survey as well as handout materials.
